MERLOT Awards: Service to MERLOT: 2008 Distinguished Service Award

Long-time MERLOT supporter, Mike Abbiatti (formerly with Louisiana Board of Regents and now with the state of Arkansas) was honored with MERLOT’s Distinguished Service Award, MERLOT’s highest honor. Mike had this to say about MERLOT: “Gerry Hanley has assembled an outstanding group of professionals who not only promise superior leadership and services but also deliver beyond expectations. MERLOT has been, and will continue to be, an integral part of the New Louisiana and a core component of the national/international “e-volution” of education. I am extremely proud to have been a very small participant in the success of MERLOT thus far. The future will be even more exciting as MERLOT continues to push the envelope of teaching and learning at every level…In summary, I am both honored and humbled to be recognized by MERLOT. I will be forever grateful to Phil Moss for getting me involved in MERLOT and to Gerry Hanley's MERLOT family for the tremendous friendship and professional support that I have enjoyed for several years. I will carry my MERLOT experiences with me into the next phase of my life, with full confidence in the fact that we will be working together again soon.”
